So many of us have been guilty of losing perspective of who we really know God to be whenever we suffer. But how can any Christian bring themselves to say that God does not know suffering, pain, discomfort, or grief? God offered the ultimate sacrifice—God gave us His Son, who died for us so that we may live. So that we can be reconciled back to God.
It is important for us to understand that our weakness is not something to be feared and cast away. We can use our weakness to grow closer to God. Deepen our bond with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Many of us are no strangers to living through crises that substantially impacted our lives. You may have noticed that going through such an ordeal has put you in a position where you can use your experience to help others who are going through similar crises. It’s important to remember that sooner or later, we are all provided with the opportunity to both give and receive comfort and support to others during challenging times.
Our Weakness is a Path to Greater Glory
The Apostle Paul said,
“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.” (1 Corinthians 1:26).
We are weak and fragile for a reason—so that we can learn and bring forth God’s greatness and glory. We are simple creatures that do not draw attention away from the majesty of God. When we are honest with ourselves and with God about our pain, suffering, and weakness, we receive God’s provision so that He receives the credit and the glory.
Our Weakness is a Path to Deeper Hope
When we suffer, we are reminded of the things that truly matter. We connect with the most important aspects of our lives. The things that give our lives meaning and purpose. When we are struck with adversity, our attention diverts to a deeper and more powerful longing for God and the Eternal Heaven. We long and hope for all that is true and glorious. We long for a world that puts an end to suffering.
