Life has its ups and downs and sometimes the downs can take the shape of a horrible event. There’s no way to prepare or foresee these terrible events, but it’s crucial to remain hopeful.

Grief is often linked to the loss of a loved one, however, you can experience grief due to a medical diagnosis, breakups, toxic relationships, falling out with a loved one, losing a job, feeling lost in life, etc. Grief is a natural process and it takes time to heal. However, some people hold on to grief for a long period of time.

Here are some Bible verses to read when experiencing grief:

Psalm 34: 18

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed spirit.”

This verse alone can help put things into perspective for you. It can fill you with hope to carry on and live life with God by your side. Always remember that God is present in every moment and he will instill hope and strength in your heart as you try to get through this time.

2 Corinthians 1: 3 to 4

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lode Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

This verse is a reminder that God is there to comfort us during trying time. it’s also a reminder that every person has their personal battles and that we should look out for others too. we should be a source of comfort to others, like God is to us.

Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

This verse in the book of Matthew can give you so much hope. This verse tells you that it’s okay to feel sad and upset. It’s okay and necessary to grieve so that you can be comforted and eventually feel better.
